There is NO intelligence whatsoever involved . In fact, it is
mutational accidents upon accidents ... every centimeter of the

Oh, here's another little interesting piece.
Stick with it...... just under 10 minutes, around 4 minutes in you'll get
the the evidence for evolution from jawless fish to human followed by some
death blows to the nonsens of creationism...
Now dilv, you are going to HAVE to watch this to be presented with some
facts.. ignoring it, or discounting it, or just not bothering re-inforces
the paranoid delusion from which. it appears, you are suffering.
Then after you've watched it, perhaps you'll post your response with
answers to the facts therein..?

oops..here it is..

You don't even know what a misnomer is, do you?

And you haven't a clue about natural selection. Natural selection is a
process so obvious that you could almost call it common sense: In a
harsh environment, weaker individuals will die, leaving the rest to pass
on the traits that made them stronger to their offspring. This happens
for generation after generation after generation, across which certain
traits disappear and others develop, according to the help they give the
organism to survive and reproduce.

You are of course quite right to say that no intelligence is involved,
but the only randomness is in the genetic hand the individual is dealt;
some are just luckier than others. If all individuals of a species
invariably got the same hand, natural selection would not lead anywhere,
and no evolution would occur.

The boot if of course on the other foot, and you know it. The scientific
consensus is heavily on the side of evolution, and almost all those who
oppose it have no biological knowledge to speak of.

God doesn't come into it; Mark could have a religious conversion at any
time and still believe in evolution. All the major Christian
denominations accept evolution, and it is only a tiny but loud-mouthed
group of reactionary and profoundly ignorant Christians who oppose it.
You are simply outnumbered and outclassed.

Thanks for that........ good fun..
Is it just me or do others get frustrated beyond belief by the responses to
examples of *christian* behaviour in others...
It's impossible to draw a pattern but we hear, read and see evidence from
four corners of the world of the behaviour of so called christians ranging
from spoken abuse, through physical violence and right up to child/adult
abuse and even killing all in the defence of this superstition.... only to
be told by *other* christians that these perpetrators are not *really*
christians....!
It frustrates the hell out of me..

It is all inherent in any of the monotheistic religions. If you
believe that you have the only answer then you must also believe
that the others are wrong.

If you encourage in-group altruism, then by definition you must
discriminate against those who are out-group.

The implications for "faith" (sectarian) schools is obvious, with
their legally sanctioned discrimination in both pupil admission and
teacher employment. There is, however, one ray of hope:

You appear to be arguing against some caricature of evolution set up
by creationists.

You really do need to snap out of this fairy belief that compels you
to attack anything that threatens your delusion. We know evolution
is a fact, if you refuse to look at the facts then that is your
look-out not ours.

John Safran put it superbly:

Another from John Safran, this time for the Mormons.

It includes a sequence where John Safran goes door knocking in Salt
Lake city trying to "convert" Mormons to "atheism" using Origins as
his bible (note for the intellectually challenged: it is a spoof, it
is funny specifically because this doesn't normally happen, atheism
isn't a religion, we don't go banging on doors etc etc):

Look out for the religious tolerance, where one guy hits John Safran
with a garden rake.

I don't have the broadbandedness necessary to watch youtube stuff, but I
bought this series on DVD after it screened a couple of years back. I'm
guessing the first one you mention is his "Too stupid to be an atheist"
fireside chat. There are others. He finished off each episode with one
of these tirades.

That scene where the old bloke belts him with the rake is very
revealing. It speaks volumes about the paranoid & defensive mindset of
the believer. From memory, I think there's another couple who tell him
to "Take us off your list!" - as though they feel they've been targeted
by proselytizing atheists - giving us an insight into their own methods.

If you haven't seen it, have a look at his Bob Larson 'Exorcism'
session. (assuming someone's posted it) It's truly, deeply,
skin-crawlingly creepy.
